LA LIBRERÍA DEL INGENIOSO HIDALGO

The Sonor Ensemble commissioned this work to Federico Jusid to commemorate the 4th Century of the first edition of Miguel de Cervantes’ novel Don Quijote de la Mancha. The piece is based on the passage of the novel when D. Alonso Quijano has his immense library of books of chivalry burnt down. The work is structured on a theme and variations form, where the theme only appears entirely at the end of the piece.
